HD-DVD Audio

With the pending final version of the HDMI Digital TV/HD-DVD spec due in September does everyone here know that SACD and DVD-A will be gone with the next generation of DVD players, HD-DVD?
The audio spec on the HDMI is up to eight channels at 24/192 PCM. This will be output-ed in the digital domain through the HDMI connector which must use HDCP which is HIGH Definition Copy Protection. HDCP assures the software provider security from copying of the digital data signal. The current SPDIF digital out is speed limited to 24/96 so HDMI will be a big step up.
If the majors feel their intellectual property is secure the software should flow plus a pure audio version of the new disks can hold a lot of music, maybe 6 to 10 CDs worth.
