I never got blasted out when listening to my wife play her Steinway B in our living room or when playing back recordings of the live performances. Nor did I ever get blasted out when listening to symphony music in the same room at row 10 concert volumes. Now I live in a smaller place and listen in a small room. I listen near field and do not get blasted out either.
If you get "blasted out" it's because you are playing recordings that are distorted or dynamically compressed or because your system or room are not up to snuff. Or perhaps you just want background music.
