So I have been tracking some cables that I have coming from Greece via USPS. They shipped out last Monday 2/9/15. Apparently they tried to deliver today, but could not because no one was home to sign for the package.
Now I have two problems with this. First of all, UPS and FedEx let the receiver know whether a signature will be required or not on their tracking information, USPS does not. Since I work for a living, I am not home to receive packages. When I see that a signature is required, I put a "Hold at Location" on the package before it is due to be delivered. Then I pick it up after work, as FedEx and UPS offer convenient hours. They are open until 8-9 PM.
USPS not only doesn't let you know that a signature will be required, but they close at 4:30 PM. So I can't even pick the package up after work.
Just another inconvenient, and poorly run government organization. Their tracking information does not let you know when it will be delivered, whether it will require a signature, and then they won't even stay open so that you can pick up the package after work.
How the hell do they stay in business??? Am I the only person that works away from home?
