The problem with posting what I did is that I really can't follow it up with an example. We can only speak from experience, so I can't argue with your examples. But in my house I get somewhat more immediacy from my ss electronics than from my otherwise very fine tube gear, the latter's other virtues notwithstanding. That said, I consider my ss gear an exception to an otherwise hard to disprove rule. It is true that good tube gear can generate or create an interesting sense of space. If that's what some people considering immediacy, I can't argue with it. I'm talking about the presence of instruments and voices in front of me. Here, my SS gear sets the standard for that, with vinyl or CD.
