My guess is that motorsports aren't a primary hobby for you since your statements are simply not true. Not every NASCAR team uses cryogenic treatment of engine parts, much less suspension parts. If there was truly a benefit to be had from cryogenic treatment, the Formula 1 teams, which are much more sophisticated than NASCAR, would have been using it for years. To date, it seems that many teams are trying the technique on a few engine parts to see which benefit as part of their heat treatment regime.

With respect to how often racing engines fail, all one can say is "all the time". Some are mechanical failure and some are driver error, but "blown" engines are a fact of life in motor racing.
