Because "there" keeps moving. Because no one system can keep enough of what you thought was important before and add what you've discovered and so decided is important now. I think one mistake some people make is trying to get some of everything rather than a lot of a couple of things and so end up with a bland compromise. It's a sensible compromise but not a very exciting or even satisfying one, at least in the long run. It's a compromise that makes you susceptible to systems with fewer compromises and more excellences.
