Agreed they'd sell more if they were better looking. I don't know whether there are speakers around that are better looking and sound as good. If so, AN has a problem with the AZ's. And there is a truth here, which my post did not report: if you're going to build speakers in Europe and ship them through an importer to dealers outside of Europe and then on to customers, there will be compromises in the $1500 to $2250 price range, which in the case of the AZ's are in the beauty department. They are utilitarian looking, no question.
The better AN speakers -- K's, J's, and E's -- even in their lower price ranges -- can deliver a lot without any significant aesthetic or sonic compromises. I find it hard to believe that those who attack AN for their prices are thinking of these either, which run from $2850 to $6900.
Anyway, none of this is news to most but it's probably worth restating once in a while. AN's basic and mid priced gear is no more expensive than the competition. Their premier stuff carries premier pricing. Fair enough. Silver and copper are getting verrrry expensive.
