what u complaining about?
you're getting free cryogenic treatment from nature - between each power cycles.
and turning off the heating completely at night and turning it up high in daytime in your listening room may even augment the cryogenic benefits.
seriously, leaving optical disc players powered up over prolong period can change its spectrum characteristics at the very top end.
and whatever happens at the very top end can also have repercussion for the timbre reproduction characteristics in the upper bass and mids.
try comparing a CD and a SACD of the same title, after different length of warm up time, 1) 1 hour warm up, 2) 1 week constant power up
what you want to do is listen out for the DEGREE of difference between the 2 discs.
the longer the player stays powered up, after the optimum period, the more there is heat build up inside the player, and this can progressively roll off the highs.
the roll off is very gentle, very subtle, so one may not notice it.
but you may notice that sonic differences between cds and sacds would not be as prominent as you remembered it.
if you want to power off equipment, make sure the power supply grid stays powered up (including all the powercords leading up to each equipment)
powercords' dielectic needs to stay charged all the time.
some dielectric materials can take up to 48 hours to reach its optimum condition.
this creates a problem when a particular component is made without a on/off switch.
if you cut off power at the power grid, the powercord feeding the component also gets deprived of current to maintain charge in its dielectric, and that sometimes lead people to wrongly conclude that that component must need 48 hours warm up to sound optimum.
