I am considering the purchase of a Yaqin CD3 tubed buffer. I asked Pacific Valve what the output impedance is and they responded, " about 1K ohm". Their ad stated low output impedance so I guess their idea of low is very different than mine. I know an output impedance of 1K ohm would mahe it unsuitable in my system (it may be unsuitable anyway) for use between the preamp and amp. I expect from past experience that anything with an output impedance above 100 ohms would degrade the bass response significantly. I am currently using a pre with a 50 ohm output impedance. So, finally, here is my question: Would it still be detrimental to bass response if used between the transport and DAC? The reason I wanted to try this thing is that it uses 6SN7's (2) and I have a large collection of 6SN7's. They are one of my favorite tube types. All relevant posts appreciated.
