Re: Copying Vinyl from turntable to Computer Hard Drive

You need a decent quality sound card and a WAV recording program. I transfer my vinyl to the PC (then to CD) using (a WAV recording program called) LP Recorder. LP Recorder allows me to record an entire side of an LP in one take. I then use LP Ripper (a WAV editor) to separate and trim the tracks. The WAV tracks can then be played as-is or burnt to CD. The sound card I use is the Audiophile 24/96 by M-Audio. I have also used LP Ripper to rip the audio tracks from concert DVDs where no CDs of the concert were ever released and create my own custom CDs. I am very pleased with the results I get from this setup.
