I bought the F87 as a DVD and as a temporary CD player.I still using it for CDs although I've ugraded to a Plinius 9100 amp and nice pair of old Snell E II speakers.
Its nowhere near as "audiophile" so why do I still use it?
1) When I have tried a high end DAC or CD player, they have only sounded marginally better to me, quite unlike the difference made by the amp and the speakers
2) I have been seduced by the 5 disc changer
3) It saves space, the one device gives me a player, a changer and a DVD.
4) I hate to spend a lot on a fast depreciating item like a high end CD player and the F87 is very inexpensive (generally $30-$80 on ebay).
