General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

My job requires it

I work for a very large food company and over the years we have spent millions of dollars in consumer research which requires DBT as well as other testing. We, and probably all other major food company, spend the money because we know it works and the results directly affect sales. The goverment even allows us to make a claim on the packaging of superiority over our competitors if we have proven in a blind taste test using a independent tester.

There is a whole science around food sensory perception and it is very sound science accepted worldwide. Methinks that it could somehow be applied to the auditory senses given proper protocol.

Question to naysayers: If a bunch of blind audiophiles were to do some audio testing, why would their conclusions be invalid versus a bunch of sighted audiophiles?
