In Reply to: "The manufacturers cannot explain how it works." And you know this, how, exactly? posted by clarkjohnsen on March 26, 2005 at 07:51:39:
...of how this miraculous device works, I would gladly read it. I can't find anything on the website. As for the hocus pocus aspect, that's pretty self-evident by what I've seen so far. Then again, too many so-called tweaks offer no real improvement in the sound for any but those who already believe in the first place. I've tried my share of tweaks from cable lifters to quarters on the corners of my speaker cabinets. I never hear the dramatic improvements attributed to any of these devices. After you've been disappointed time and time again, I think it's natural for one to dismiss these products based on your past experience. If the "chip" and other devices of that ilk were praised for doing what they claim to do (good or bad) by reputable sounces and not merely anecdotes by some who may have a vested interest in their commercial success, I might be inclined to investigate them further. For now, I leave the chip to the ears of those who think silver cables sound "brighter" than copper ones, who think green pens make their CD's sound better, and the cryogenic cable crowd.
