Racks w/ at least 10" clearance

I have a big amp, and am not comfortable with an amp stand (visions of dropping something and taking out 9 or 10 expensive, matched output tubes).

I need at least 10" of clearance, on at least one shelf, preferrably the bottom. 13" would be better, allowing me to experimet with isolation materials.

I prefer wood, solely for aesthetic reasons. I like the looks of the Lovan Essence (all wood) but wonder how much stiffness I'd be giving up by moving from (possibly fillable) metal to wood uprights. My gear is tubed and HEAVY.

I need short and wide, as opposed to tall ansd thin. Some of the Bell'Os look cool, but all the nicer ones tend to be tall, expensive and god knows how stiff.

I'd like to get at least 4 shelves, 2X2 is best, and don't wan't to pay more than, say, $600. The phono can always go on the wall.

I'm sure the stiffness makes a difference, but I'm not so sure I buy all these reviews that say a certain stand adds more "iimediacty" to the music, or "opens up the sounds stage." That sounds like the same folks that advocate $500 wall plugs, and cryogenic $5.5K power cords. Maybe SOMEONE can hear thet sort of difderence in SOME system, but I'll bet I can't, with my measly 15K hi fi at my house.

Ideas?
