you're right in every way... except that one of the shop you mentioned also has the nose HIGH. I asked about trade-in of my "like new in box" Creek 5350SE and they said it's worth $250. lolWell, this is not an answer to the original question, there's another very good audio shop in north shore area. Quintessence Audio at Morton Grove. Their website is forever under construction.

They have one OK listening room, and if you ask, even without pre appointment, they will rearrange the system you want to hear for you.
Worth visiting if you want to hear Sonus Faber Cremona driven by Jeff Rowland's or Cary's. Sweet sound.Doug
