A "technologically advanced, high current power cord"...

costs little more than the "generic" cords that most amps come with. Promoting any other idealogy only helps to further the ridiculous prices that most manufacturers charge for their "snake oil" based repackaging of what are already commercially available products. If you doubt what i say here, start pulling apart your "fancy" power cords and looking at what is inside them i.e. mass produced cores "covered" in "snake-skin" to hide the guts. Regardless of the "high tech" procedures that many of these companies claim to utilize on their cabling, the core materials are quite commonly run of the mill "junk" that can be bought by any consumer for a few bucks.

Given the wholesale cost of materials in most power cords, there are very few power cords made that should cost more than $200 - $250 retail and this is being "generous". This includes "cryogenic freezing" or any other form of "metal manipulation" that you can think of. On top of this, the cost of additional cabling per foot above a "standard" length power cord, including "snake-skin" and other cosmetic goodies, should amount to nothing more than a very few dollars per foot at most.

Like it or not, this IS the truth about the majority of AC cabling being touted as "audiophile grade" nowadays. There are always exceptions to the rule i.e. custom made cables that use phenomenally high grade materials with a lot of hand labor, but those are the exception and NOT the norm. Sean
