Re: And how does your asking for such a link involve finding the truth?

Sorry for delay, i thought this thread had petered out. I am attempting to find other applications (in NASA or eslewhere) that are more related to the discussion which started this thread, which was on the subj of cryogenic treatment of audio cables. Now, since there are many here among us who think that is absurd that cryogenics can possible improve the sound, furthermore that there is no corroborating evidence to support claims by some of us who post on this board that cryogenically treating cables or anything else does anything to the materials that would warrent an improvement to the sound, I imagine it would be of interest to provide cases of applications - space related or otherwise - in which materials are (temporarily) cooled to -300 degrees, then thawed to room temp., that would support such claims. Without such "evidence" it is a leap of faith to believe that cryogenic treatment does anything in particular to materials, to change them in some way, then another leap to believe whatever change(s) that occur would result in better sound.
I realize this cryogenic discussion has been around for a long time, a guess the old arguments of improved sound from musical (brass) instruments, improved longevity/hardness from tools, improved performance from racing engines - all having been cryo'd - hasn't made much of an impression. Perhaps no evidence will be strong enough.
