Re: ST-70 15.6 resistor replacement

Just grab a pair of 29.4 and 33.2 ohm 1/4 or 1/2 watt 1% resistors and place them in parallel. These are standard 1% values stocked by Mouser etc. It comes out to 15.6 ohms at either 1/2 or 1 watt, more than sufficient.

Remember that power dissipation is P=IV, and V=IR, so adjusting for 1.56v across 15.6 ohms would dissipate P=V*V/R or all of 0.15 watts.

The problem with substituting for the 15.6 ohm resistor is that you end up with a "non-standard" Dynaco ST70, which may confuse someone in the future if you don't clearly mark the change.
