Probably just an aging tube

Your description sounds like a microphonic tube.
I suggest that you buy a couple of matched 6021W (Capitole MKII) or E88cc (Capitole MKI) and have a technician replace them.
The 6021W should cost you about 5 pounds each and are soldered in place, those are rugged military transmission tubes that should last more than 20.000 hours.
If your Capitole is MK I, make sure that you buy 6922/E88cc tubes selected for low microphonics (Kevin Deal of Upscale Audio has great tubes).
