Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: excellent advice ...

I agree that Cardas provides high quality products. I use both Cardas and Vampire connectors in my cables.
Right now I prefer Cardas for subwoofer cables and Vampire for analog and digital ICs.

Vampire has a very extensive product line, from budget to fairly expensive (same price bracket as Cardas).
I have no opinion about the budget products.
I have tested Vampire's more expensive OFC male and female RCAs and can assure you that they fit very tight and that the contacts do not loosen over time (I make cables for friends and test a couple of pairs of ICs in my system at least once a week).
BTW the Vampire female RCA has a teflon sleeve that grips tightly the male RCA pin over most of its length. No way one can wiggle the male RCA to pull it off.
I have also modified a couple of CD players, replacing the standard generic gold plated female RCas with Vampire OFC connectors. This mod is the first I do to prove to my friends that most CD players are easily improved. No one ever failed to notice the increased transparency and musicality.
I hope this clarifies my opinion.
All the best
Carlos
