Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I prefer its sound with a preamp

The Audio Aero player is a very musical player, the best I have heard so far (never heard the Linn, heard most of the others).
I run mine into a minimalist preamp, I am positive the system has better dynamics, punchier bass and deeper soundstaging with the preamp. I have demoed the difference countless times to friends and visitors.
The AA comes wih a Crystal analog attenuator chip that sounds very good up to an attenuation of -10 db. Below -10 db it slightly veils the fine sound quality of the AA player.
IMHO if you insist on not using a preamp you will miss part of the action.
A temporary solution is to use a power amp with ajustable input sensitivity.
Enjoy the music

SYSTEM:
AA Capitole CDP
Tone Audio TVC hot-rod line stage
Tone Audio ICs
Audio Aero Capitole class A tubed power amp (50W/ch.)
or Gamut D-200 MK-II power amp (200 W/ch.)
Van den hul Inspiration speaker cables (a work of genius)
Thiel 3.5 (modified, oldies but outstanding midrange)
North Acoustics Tempest Speakers
In summary: MUSICAL BLISS
