Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Yamaha vs. Rotel CD Changers

I haven't heard a Rotel changer, but I'm pretty certain that it will beat the sound of my Yamaha changer: the DAC is a old bitstream design (though, dual chip), and the analogue section is nothing special.

The external Adcom DAC I added on later blew away the sound of the Yamaha built-in DAC. I'm sure the Rotel RCC-1055 with the famous BurrBrown 1732 DAC chips and a decent analogue section would also beat the Yamaha.

As a transport though, my unit has been bullet-proof for over a year, no mis-read discs, smooth mechanism, fairly quiet motor, and reads CD-RW's too.
