You can use programs like CoolEdit, and probably Soundforge to generate those tones.I did, and played a 1 minute 20-20Khz sine-wave sweep on my speakers (PSB Image 2B), and later on my headphones (Sony MDR-V6). I couldn't hear ALL of the sounds tones from 12KHz to 20KHz, it was patchy I would say. Yet, I know my speakers are *reasonably* flat throughout the upper frequencies.
What I DID notice, is that I felt very sick after having listened. It physically gave me nausea, and I swore to never listen to it again. The volume wasn’t particularly high, just enough to make the (most-sensitive-for-your-ear) frequencies ‘mildly uncomfortable’ I would say.
Has anyone else gotten sick from sound waves?
