Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Playing Music on Computer

1. storagereview.com used to have drive noise tests for numerous DVD-ROM drives, and found the Lite-On units to be some of the quitest around. I have the 12X and must say that it's quiter than the rest of the computer (3 fans + hard drive).

2. I've never tried to 24/96 output, but most drives have S/PDIF pins for digital output, so I think you can just connect those to a RCA-type header. The SB Platinum has a front panel with the RCA connectors on it, as well as optical outs.

Hope that helps a bit...
