...require that distributors handle ALL service inquiries and carry a replacement parts inventory. Rega will not handle such requests directly.

Some of the problems described in AA posts may be software bugs, because the Apollo uses proprietary firmware to control its transport. IMO, those bugs would be the manufacturer's responsibility, not the distributor's, since no HI-FI distributor has the people or skills to debug software.
