Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

the biggest difference is simply the mastering quality. Clearly, an audiophile was responsible for the sound engineering on these discs and knew how to make them sound most like the original vinyl.

The SACD-hybrid releases use fancy dCS equipment to remaster the Living stereo discs, but these sound cold and a dark compared to the XRCD (I did some A/B tests with Heifetz Sibelius concerto, and Reiner conducting Scheherazade).

Sure I bet jitter has something to do with it, but the biggest difference for me is just the mixing and equalization that was chosen, it really makes all the right things stand out to give it a 'live' or realistic sound on the XRCD.
