If I told you my recipes I would have to call my cousins to take care of you...just kidding. :^)
A few hints to get you started:
*T. Loesch is in the right direction;
*AQ got it all wrong IMHO, according to my aging ears;
*The shield voltage must be higher than the maximum peak-to-peak AC signal travelling within the cable, therefore speaketr cables require high voltage shielding and most CD players ICs will be perfectly happy with 6 or 9 V.
*Besides shielding, local decoupling with extremely fast RF caps is the secret to a black background.
*Space the shield away from the signal wires;
*Use a 95% shield and DO NOT stretch it so that it becomes a "drafty" 70% shield.
