I don't think the cryo treatment was the cause of your harsh sounding cables. If anything cryo treatment removes the harshness, and this is readily apparent in both listening and bench tests with a scope. In effect it changes the molecular structure of copper and brass to a single-crystal or "Martinsite" state, and purges trace minerals and elements like selenium, sodium, and sulfur as well. I have never heard anyone complain of harshness in their cryo'd cables. But not all cryo treatment processes are equal. Only deep-immersion in liquid nitrogen will work thoroughly for audio and video cable. And once the molecular structure has changed, it does not revert to any previous state. There is no metallurgical or cryogenic engineering data to support the notion that the cables revert to a previous molecular after prolonged use.
