Freezing cables at home may have a small effect, but the temperature change is nothing like what happens with cryogenic freezing. Freezing in the fridge is 32 degrees F. Absolute zero is -459.67 degrees F. You might be able to lower the energy state a little in the freezer, but the effect will be subtle compared to cryogenic freezing.If you do choose to freeze at home, seal the item in a plastic bag to prevent moisture from getting in and freeze overnight. It is important to thaw the item slowly, so move it next to the refrigerator and let it thaw over a day. That way the molecules remain at a lower energy state. Bringing it out immediately from the freezer to room temperature will case the molecules to rise up again in their energy states and defeat the effects of the freezing process.
