Home Cable Asylum

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

Lots

Just because you have an Audio Magic Stealth doesn't mean you are done. The Stealth cannot pass all of its function, unless you use high quality powercords between the Stealth and components.

I have used a total of five Stealths now. I own two. I've gone through many permutations, involving different components, outlets, and PCs. I simply did not know what the Stealth could do, unless I used top-notch PCs.

I originally had the Audio Magic X-treme go between the Wattagat 381 and the Stealth. No matter how long I waited for the cord to burn-in, the sound was muffled and tame. So then I replaced the X-treme with Tara Labs Air AC. Ah! Now the music's dimensions expanded. And then I replaced the stock cords to the components with Air AC, and -- voila -- recordings started to sound like themselves.

Moral: do not choke off the Stealth's performance by using stock cords. Maximize your system's potential by finding the right aftermarket powercords. Using good PCs from the Stealth to the equipment extends the Stealth's benefits to the equiment.

When I remove the Stealth, my systems' performances suffer greatly. The music collapses to some vague spot between the loudspeakers. I lose detail, transparency, speed, and resolution.
