I would not pretend that I understand the nuances of power supply design or of ac transformer design, but I was once told by a Bell Labs engineer that were power supplies and transformer ideally designed power cable capable of passing enough current would all sound the same. This is not of much help, however, as there are no ideal transformers or power supplies, although some are no doubt better designed.I must admit that the differences in power cords amaze me. I am coming to the view that they are the most important element in system sound. David Elrod's EPS-3 continues to excell over everything else I have tried, including the cheap and great Absolute pc with cryogenic treatment.
