The copper or brass material that I have deep cryogenically treat normally changes color slightly, ie copper gets brighter, more of an orange color. Brass takes on more of a goldish/brownshish color. Have you noticed this? So one way to determine if your material has been treated, keep a small sample (untreated) to compare with the material once it has been treated.
