Cryogenic treatment is a useful and effective form of stress relief. Many NASCAR, CART, etc. race teams use it on parts of their race cars. A engine block shrinks over 1/4 inch at -300 degrees. I have seen before and after pictures of grain structure and the grain is considerably more aligned after cryo treatment. I have also done a number of audio related items and have noted a positive sonic improvement. You want proof? Do the research. I did.
