I had the opposite experience. I replaced my Hubbell cry'od "Porter Port" with an Oyaide R1 and found it to have a much better grip on the male plug. In fact, I was worried I might pull the duplex out of the box when removing the Furutech power plug. I also noticed a increase in soundstage width and overall clarity. In my system a worthwhile upgrade.
