RE: Gonna ask this cryogenic question regarding soldering.....

Try the various combos before cryoing. In my experience, repeated heating cycles for soldering and unsoldering wire affects the temper of the copper It becomes harder and more prone to becoming brittle. I believe the cryo treatment helps anneal this but the research is quite spotty and nothing is verified.

Also there is a school of thought that cryo treatment literally squeezes out the molecular gas dissolved in the copper. Repeated heating cycles will cause the crystalline structure to "open " up and allow the molecular atmospheric gas to reenter the copper base metal (or brass or whatever)
