I own both the WBT and Ideal crimping tools. IMO the Ideal tool does not do as good a job on WBT sleeves as the WBT tool. The WBT tool has a unique wider profile with special teeth, and multiple dedicated crimp points for various size sleeves. Because of its wider profile, the WBT tool crimps the sleeve along its length in about two passes. The Ideal tool has a narrower profile, requires at least three or four crimps along the length of a sleeve, and does a so-so job. IMHO, the WBT tool just does a cleaner, more "gas-tight" looking crimp. If you purchase 4 or more WBT connectors from VH Audio, Chris VH allows you to purchase a WBT crimper and return it for refund.
