I have used both with the same wire and cable geometry.
WBT 108 sounds very smooth, has a slightly laidback treble, just like the sound in a good concert hall. Maybe that's why it is used in several Kimber silver-based ICs.
Vampire's 800CB connectors sound very balanced and even, with extended highs and very clean midrange.
Both excel in the bass department and are well shielded. You cannot go wrong with either, however, they are no longer the top-of-the-line products.
Vampire now has the Xhadow connectors which IMHO are a sure fire upgrade for ANY cable. Music sounds just wonderfully natural and open with good cables and Xhadow connectors.WBT recently released the Nextgen plugs. I tried their Silver Nextgen plugs on a digital cable, they do wonders for digital, for example soundstaging and detail are vastly improved as compared to a regular WBT plug.
I have not tried the gold plated NextGen yet, though they are in the closet, waiting for their turn.
I hope this helps
