IME Xhadow connectors will improve dramatically the midrange, air and soundstaging as compared to a copper Bullet plug.
Your Belden cable and VH's Pulsar have a smidge of "byte" in the upper midrange, though IMO the Pulsar is a much better cable than Belden (for audio).
IMO the Xhadow sounds very close to hardwired, as long as you crimp the HOT wire with the small set screw (no solder) and use top quality chassis RCAs like Vampire Cm1F-CB or CM2F-CB.
Otherwise, hardwiring is a good option.
Also, may I suggest that you use your best PC on the digital source, that's where PCs make the most difference.
