Re: Eichmann Bullets, WBT nextgen, and other RCA male connectors. Opinions?

My personal favorites for analog ICs are, from top to bottom:
Xhadow large body
Xhadow small body
Vampire 800-CB
Vampire C7X-CB
I have the WBT Nextgen on order and do not care for the sound of Bullet Plugs, there's something missing (harmonically speaking).

I agree with Duster, the WBT crimp (solderless) RCAs are too heavy and do not sound much better than their widespread "clones".

All the above except NextGen comes from actual long-term comparisons, connected between an Audio Aero capitole CDP and my amp.
My humble advice: do not save twenty bucks on your system's most important connection. The better your "first" IC, the better the system will sound.

Regarding the capacitor analogy: most amplifiers do have some local or global negative feedback, which will partially offset the poor conductivity of internal solder joints.
Interconnects are 100% feedback-free, anything lost down that path will NEVER be recovered. Therefore, in my experience, IC soldered connections are much more critical than soldering within components.
Please note that I am not an advocate of feedback, it's a patch that enables designers to worry less about parts quality, layout and solder consistency.
Good luck on your DIY project
