Re: rust?

Dear Pburke
Fact 1: Please scroll down to the drawing on the linked web page, from Eichmann's web site. Look at the picture and captions. I see gold plated tellurium copper in there somewhere.

Fact 2: "The new Bullet Plug® connector solves the problems of standard and audiophile grade RCA plugs by providing a faster, cleaner signal of high purity and detail.
To achieve this we have designed the Bullet Plug® as a miniature cable - with high-conductive, gold-plated tellurium copper (CuTe) pins providing a rapid transfer of electrons to/from RCA sockets."
(copied ipsis literis from Eichmann's web site)

Fact 3: I am not selling any product, I am trying to help my fellow audiophiles debunk a myth. There's no hidden agenda, because I do not export my cables.

"I also hope you were not considering me as the "troll" - I think I have a few more posts on this forum than you do."

Fact 4: A search for Carlos and Pburke shows that you are correct, sir. You do have more posts on the Cable asylum.
However the total number of posts authored by yours truly was limited to 1000, as was your total, due to AA system restrictions. I usually post more on the Tube DIY and Tweaks/DIY pages, which shows my "hidden agenda" against DIYers: Fact 5

Fact 6: http://www.key-to-metals.com/Article79.htm:
"Parts that must be highly machined and highly conductive are made from the free-machining coppers. Widely used is tellurium copper, which has 90% minimum conductivity..."

Fact 7 (from the Eichmann site):
"Annealed copper has a conductivity rating of at least 100% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard). Brass has a conductivity rating of 28% IACS."Tellurium copper contact pins provide up to 320% greater conductivity than standard brass pins"

Let's make a simple calculation based on what they wrote in the marketing blurb:
0.28 * 320/100 = 0.896
meaning that Eichmann copper plugs do indeed have less than 90% conductivity.
So, could that be a reasonable technical explanation for the incoherent, harsh and gritty sound that I heard in my system ?

Can't you take friendly, polite advice as such ?
Can't you believe that my post was frank, honest and based on actual experience and real data?
Carlos
