I can attest that VDH Hybrid Inspiration is one of the best loudspeaker cables I have ever had the chance to audition in my system.
At its current price level of U$ 800-1000 for a 2 meter pair I think it is unbeatable. I prefer it to the latest $5K Siltech speaker cables.
It just plays music, its midrange and treble are smooth as silk. There is a little bump in the upper bass, which for most CD-based systems is beneficial.
Best of all, VDH knows how to make silver cables without the all-too-common silver brightness.
I own a (very small) cable business and make all kinds of different products, except speaker cables. The reason is simple: I have decided that if I cannot beat my reference cable in at least three different systems, I do not release the product. That's exactly what happened with speaker cables after three years of expensive trials.
I believe Mr. VDH raised the bar with the Inspiration.
The above IMHO, within the price range, in my system and please keep in mind that I have access only to products with wide international distribution, like Kimber, Audioquest, Ecosse, Siltech, MIT (in summary, major players). Maybe there is a great speaker cable made in Fargo, but I had no chance to audition it (so far).
Good luck
Carlos
