Home Cable Asylum

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

It's easy to prove that cables DO make a difference

We need some Socratic thinking to convince you.
Instead of buying very expensive cables, buy the least expensive cables you can find at Radio Shack or any local electronics store.
You will probanlly spend $5 per interconnect and $10-20 for speaker cables.
Then replace the most important cables in your system: source to tube buffer IC, tube buffer to integrated amp IC and speaker cables.
I bet you will hear a difference for the worse. MUCH WORSE!
If you have a spare, cheap computer AC cord, install it in your source or amplifier.

So, as Socrates (or Plato) would point out, we have proven that poor cables degrade the sound of a good system, correct ?
If the above is true, then the reverse is also true: better cables will improve your system. To prove the above assumption without spending a penny, just re-use your original cables...aha, instant improvement!!!!
Of course there is a limit to this logic, you do not need $5000 ICs for your fine system; that's due to a very simple law that we learned from our predecessors: the law of diminishing returns.

I hope that this practical, simple experiment helps you and other non-believers see the light.
You will certainly get much more musical enjoyment if you spend wisely on good cables.
