In Reply to: Revelation Audio Labs 'PRECEPT' Cryo-Silver Reference A/C Mains cable. posted by Mercman on December 21, 2004 at 18:18:57:
Aside from the ploy with TWG that Jon L pointed out, Revelation Audio Labs have some funnies in their ad. This is fair game, right?1. designed in the USA by upstart company
A Freudian slip?
2. Each cable is meticulously artesian built
Suitable for dowsing perhaps?
3. proprietary information and technical descriptions, is legally priveleged
A common enough spelling mistake. A good editor would catch it. But really, what is the gist of this statement?
4. 2-meter conductor length: Specifically chosen for its EMI/RFI rejection capabilities - an A/C Mains cable of any other length, shorter (i.e. 1-meter, 6-foot, etc.) or longer will have the tendency to behave like an antenna, transmitting and receiving electrical noise.
Let's see. 2 metres = 6.562 feet which is a difference of 9.4%. I don't think so!
5. Each of the multiple, multi-gauge conductors
A "multi-gauge" conductor. Do we guess that each leg comprises a number of wires of different gauge? Bingo!
6. The this cryogenic process effectively eliminates molecular boundries and transforms the wire into one single crystal of silver
Now that's a neat trick. No, not the spelling of "boundries" - the single crystal bit.
7. In addition, the entire internal wiring/connector interface cavity is potted/imbedded using a special aerospace compound
Any guesses?
8. 100% PURE VIRGIN TEFLON HOLLOW SLEEVING
I know what you're thinking ... stop it.
9. has huge air dielectric that is unaffected by ambient atmospheric conditions.
One is the loneliest number.
10. A silver drain wire commons each shield to ground. This provides a high common-mode rejection of noise
I'll have to think about this.
11. Our strategy is to get a limited number of these cables into the hands of a certain few discerning music lovers, for the recogition this is sure to arrouse.
I'm feeling pretty horny myself.
12. Copytight 2004 Revelation Audio Labs, Inc
That's a "watertight copyright".
13. God bless:)
Fair enough.
Regards,
Geoff
