Its easy to check.
Turn your amp to another source, disconnect either the left or right input then go back to the riginal source. On stereo the sound will come from one speaker and in mono it will come from mid-way between the two speakers.
The mono switch is handy when listening to mono LPs as it cancels out some of the noise.
Its also handy when troubleshooting.
