My 9100 is barely warm at normal listening levels and I've never known it to be hot. I assume that its typical but I have never heard another one.
It actually runs a lot cooler than I expected it to. Most amps I have heard with such a good mid-range are heavily biased and run quite hot.
I understand that the 9xxx series has different circuit design from the 8xxx series Plinius integrateds so they may not run at the same temperature.
