Yes, an electronic crossover is needed when bi-amping tube amps. The high output impedance of the tubes will not see the passive crossover and the amp will run hot with higher distortion.
4Life, I was suggesting the MC275s in mono at $7K VS the MC2102 at $6100. The 800s are made for big power and mono 275s are a lot of tube watts. A single MC275 will of course run the 800s but not like two 275s in mono.Ron-C
