The NAD _020 series is the benchmark against which all low cost amplifiers and receivers have been measured for over 20 years.Any time I see one of these locally in good condition at a good price, I will buy it. I have bought two 3020 integrated amps which my sons now use.
The 1020 is the separate preamp from this series and needs to be used in conjunction with a power amp.
If the condition is good, the $C60 price is good. If you check ebay, you will see that they typically go for more than this. You are unlikely to find a better phono section or preamp at this price.
In my opinion, the _020 series has sounded better than any other NAD equipment I have heard (I have not heard the latest models) including many that were far more powerful and far more expensive. It has also sounded better than any other equipment I have heard that is normally available at anywhere near the same price.
If a preamp meets your needs and the condition is good, I would get it.
For condition, I would check appearance, function on each source, all buttons present, no noise from speakers caused by controls and switches, and transformer hum inaudible at listening distance in a quiet room
Regards
David
