HFH,The C45 is like a solid state version of the tube C2200 with additional features. Both the C45 and 2200 will output 8 volts unbalanced and 16 volts balanced. The C45 should have no problem driving any power amp.
The volume control on the C45 is unlike the MA6900 as the C45 uses the optical encoder from the C2200. This adjusts volume by light beams which send a signal to the microprocessor which then adjusts the analog volume controls mounted on the main board. There are no moving parts other than the encoder. This volume control has a very smooth feel. The C45 also uses post attenuation which turns the source up and down as well as the output. This will result in a very high signal to noise ratio in excess of 110 dB down 'A' weighted which makes the C45 one of the quietest pre amps made.
