Re: Leave Your Amps on 24/7?

Why? I realize that a lot of people leave it on to sound their best, but also many people leave it on to prolong the life of the unit avoiding the "harmful" switching on and off. But that's just speculation, if the component is well made it should last the rigors of off and ons, my preamp has a soft power up, 50s to power up. Not sure if its a good analog, but I'm reminded by my frig which cycles on and off every 10 mins for years without a problem. I would also think that the constant heat of keeping it on 24/7 would accelerate the drying up of the caps and other parts.
