Amp/Preamp Asylum Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here. |

I'm considering having my cables cryo'd and got to talking with the company that'd do it for me. Apparently all sorts of audio components can be cryo treated -- I read where Ed Meitner has experimented on chips, whole circuit boards, you name it. Of course the cryo treatment has to be done properly as far as slow cool-down, etc. caveat emptor. Anyway the guy I was talking to stated that people have indeed had vacuum tubes and even whole amplifiers done at his place and were pleased with the results. I don't think oil caps would like cryo but who knows. I personally wouldn't try a whole component, but has anyone had a whole stereo component treated?
